Ganderbal (J&K), Nov 27 (ANI): An NGO Ecotourism Society of Kashmir started a special cleanliness drive in collaboration with Sonamarg Development Authority in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The aim of the drive was to make the famous Sonamarg tourist destination polythene-free. The drive was part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. All participants collected all types of trash, especially polythene. They also distributed eco-friendly bags among the cab drivers to aware them of the importance of eco-friendly bags. Notably, tourists visit Sonamarg to enjoy different kinds of adventure-related activities in the peak season of tourism, especially the summer. Apart from tourist influx in the month of July and August, lakhs of people including tourists, pilgrims and locals visit the Baltal area of Sonamarg for holy Amarnath Yatra. Authorities are responsible for making such places neat and clean.
