J&K: Preparations in full swing for annual Amarnath Yatra 2024; Langar facility ready for pilgrims

Baltal (J&K), June 23 (ANI): As the date for the commencement of annual Amarnath Yatra nears, preparations for the annual pilgrimage is in full swing. Situated at an elevation of 12,700 feet in south Kashmir, pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave is scheduled to start on June 29. For smooth and comfortable experience for the pilgrims, the administration has adopted a comprehensive strategy. To ensure good quality of food for the devotees, Langars, or community kitchens are being set up at Baltal base camp. Langars, or community kitchens, will provide continuous free food service around the clock to the pilgrims. Presently the installation work of almost fifty food stalls from Baltal base camp to holy cave is in full swing. Additionally, 17 well-equipped lodgement centers have been set up to offer temporary accommodation with essential amenities. These centers will also serve as critical support in case of road closures or other unexpected emergencies
