Srinagar (J&K), August 15 (ANI): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha inaugurated the renovated iconic clock tower at Lal Chowk on August 14. Apart from the clock tower, Manoj Sinha also inaugurated Residency Road, Srinagar Square, Lal Chowk. The renovation of these locations took place under the smart city project. Manoj Sinha took the news to his Twitter and shared images of the inauguration ceremony. He also wrote that ‘Smart development of iconic locations for smarter future of Srinagar will make it a city with the best quality of life for the citizens and tourists.’ The renovation work of these locations started last year. After the inauguration ceremony, the clock tower was lit up in Tricolour. India is celebrating its 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the nation on the occasion from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recently announced the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign during his Mann Ki Baat. The campaign aims to honour the brave freedom fighters and Bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the country.
