Srinagar, March 2, (ANI): In a bid to revolutionize agriculture in Kashmir, the Centre Government recently spearheaded a symposium focusing on smart technologies aimed at enhancing soil and crop management. Organized by the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, the event, themed "Translating Technology into Practice: The Smart Know-How of Soil and Crop Management," drew around 70 participants, comprising research scholars, agricultural engineers, and horticultural technocrats. Throughout the symposium, attendees delivered presentations showcasing the latest advancements poised to propel the agriculture sector to unprecedented heights. Sessions, including specialized technical discussions, provided a platform for scientists and agriculture experts to exchange insights and experiences. Notably, initiatives under the CSIR Aroma Mission and Floriculture Mission have yielded tangible results, empowering farmers and fostering the development of an agri-tech startup ecosystem in the region. Dr. Shahid Rasool, Nodal Scientist, emphasized the significance of translating technology into practice, highlighting the pivotal role of AI algorithms in predictive analytics, autonomous farming, and robotic systems for precision crop management and sustainable land use planning.
