Doda (J&K), May 11 (ANI): First batch of 45 pilgrims from J&K’s Doda departed for Medina in Saudi Arabia on May 11 to perform Haj. Every year, millions of Muslims around the world embark on the sacred pilgrimage to Mecca. The spiritual journey is considered by believers of the Islamic faith to be immensely significant as it affords them an opportunity to connect with Allah, seek forgiveness, and strengthen their faith. The desire to be among those walking to Mina, echoing the Labaik with the crowd, and performing the rituals of Hajj is a sentiment shared by countless Muslims across the globe. Doda District Administration, police representatives, and well-wishers came together to bid farewell to the pilgrims and pray for their well-being during their sacred journey. A total quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims from India has been finalised for Haj this year after India signed the Bilateral Haj Agreement 2024 with Saudi Arabia.
