J&K: Farmer in Udhampur establishes hybrid onion seedling for the first time

Udhampur (J&K), December 20 (ANI): Som Raj, a farmer from Tarmara Village in J&K’s Udhampur has successfully established a hybrid onion seedling nursery. The Nursery was made possible through the support of government funding and guidance from the agricultural department. With an initial investment of Rs 15,000, Som Raj meticulously prepared onion seedbeds and planted the hybrid onion seeds in his field. The yield surpassed expectations, and he has already generated a substantial income of Rs 60,000. The Department of Agriculture played a crucial role in Som Raj's success story by providing him with a water source. Farmers from various villages of Udhampur now flocking to purchase hybrid-ready onion seedlings from him. Expressing his gratitude, Som Raj praised the Government of India and the Department of Agriculture for their unwavering support.
