Srinagar, Sept 09 (ANI): The 9th District Pencak Silat Championship was organized by the District Pencak Silat Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council in Srinagar. It aimed to promote and showcase the exceptional talents of young athletes in the region. The event also fostered a vibrant sports culture and encouraged participation in traditional martial arts. Pencak Silat, a dynamic and culturally rich martial art originating from Indonesia, has been gaining popularity in India and serves as a vital platform for local talent. This competition not only aimed to identify players but also provided them with an opportunity to advance to higher levels of competition. Winners of the competition will have the chance to represent their skills at the UT level and on national and international stages. The event not only motivates young athletes to strive for excellence but also instills a sense of pride in representing their state.
