Srinagar, September 28(ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir administration organised two-day seminar to promote eco-tourism at new destinations in the Union Territory. Kashmir being one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, has a huge potential for ecotourism. Due to a lack of awareness and promotion, many of the places in the valley are still unknown where ecotourism can be promoted at a large scale. On World Tourism Day the Department of Tourism organised a two-day seminar in Srinagar where a good number of people including tour and travel agents, houseboat owners, environment experts, researchers and bird watchers were present and highlighted the importance of eco-tourism. To promote eco-tourism the government is committed to highlighting new destinations which results in the two-day seminar authorities of the tourism department. In the seminar, they installed a specific bookstall and a small photo exhibition regarding wildlife birds that also play a major role in increasing the beauty of eco-tourism.
