New Delhi, Jan 04 (ANI): On January 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 in the national capital, highlighting that previous governments had neglected the needs of the SC-ST-OBC communities. He added that regions that had been deprived of development for decades are now receiving equal opportunities. "Earlier governments did not pay attention to the needs of SC-ST-OBC. Migration from villages continued, poverty kept increasing, the gap between villages and cities kept increasing. 'Jinhe kisi ne nahi poocha, unhe Modi ne Pooja hai'...Areas that were deprived of development for decades are now getting equal rights. Just yesterday, a report from the State Bank of India was released, according to which rural poverty in India in 2012 was around 26%. Whereas rural poverty in India is expected to reduce to less than 5% in 2024’, said PM Modi.
