Jashn-e-Jugalbandi: Srinagar’s musical evening promotes civic engagement

Srinagar (J&K), May 03 (ANI): A musical evening called ‘Jashn-e-Jugalbandi’ was organized under SVEEP-2024 campaign at Poloview Market in Srinagar on May 02. PK Pole, the Chief Election Officer of Jammu and Kashmir, led the initiative, which gained widespread attention for its proactive efforts in raising electoral awareness among citizens. The event was enhanced by captivating performances of music bands. Locals turned up in significant numbers to savour the musical evening. Amidst the region's historical political complexities, the peaceful conduct of elections in Jammu and Kashmir stands as a significant milestone. Interacting with ANI, a musician said, “Every citizen has their right to vote. But the vote should be given to the person who is deserving and have worked for the people. These type of programmes are necessary to promote our culture.”Speaking to the media, Chief Election Officer of Jammu and Kashmir PK Pole said, “Election department is trying to conduct a smooth polling process here in Jammu and Kashmir. People should vote whoever they want, whichever party they wat. But they must cast their votes. Votin is not just their rights, but duty also.”
