J-K: Tourist resort Gulmarg hosts mega voter awareness program under SVEEP

Gulmarg, Baramulla (J&K): Famous tourist resort Gulmarg in Baramulla district of North Kashmir on April 02 hosted the Mega Voter Awareness event under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP). The event was organized at several venues including Khilan Marg, Kangdoori, Afarwat which is the highest peak in Gulmarg, to ensure the successful execution of the mega event which aims to enhance electoral literacy and raise awareness about election procedures to empower voters, especially first-time voters, to actively participate in the electoral process and was inaugurated by District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa in presence of various govt officers, volunteers and students. The event featured a range of activities such as snow skiing, skating, snow biking, snow cricket, and more. Additionally, election officials were conducting sessions, disseminating vital information about the significance of participating in elections, aiming to encourage greater public engagement during the elections. Large number of tourists, locals and students participated in this mega-awareness program.
