Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct 31 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh on October 31 addressed and attended the Parade by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at the National Unity Day celebration in the city. In the parade, a pledge was taken by Dilbagh Singh to uphold the unity of the country and contribute to its internal security. The contingents took march past and gave a national salute to the flag. DGP Dilbagh Singh said, “National Unity Day is being celebrated in different parts of the country today. Everybody (police personnel) has pledged to uphold the unity of the country and contribute to its internal security on the occasion of National Unity Day...” Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was India's first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister between 1947 and 1950. He was a senior leader and is remembered for unifying India's over 550 princely states into a single country.
