“It was war zone…” Passengers recount Bangladesh unrest as Air India flight from Dhaka lands in Delhi

New Delhi, August 07 (ANI): As an Air India flight from Dhaka landed in New Delhi, passengers and citizens of Bangladesh informed ANI about the current situation in their country on August 07. Describing the situation, a passenger said that the condition is pretty much under control. Another Bangladeshi who witnessed the wrath told that the country turned into a ‘war zone’ on July 18. Speaking to ANI, a passenger said, “It (the situation in Bangladesh) is pretty much controlled now. From tomorrow everything is going to be working- factories, offices, banks, colleges and schools...I have come to see my family..." On reports of people of a community being targeted, he said, “For Indians, it is not like that, everything is fine. Everything is fine...” Another passenger said, “Now everything is fine there, there is no problem...A lot of massacres happened and many students were killed...I have come here for a visit...” Another passenger said, “The situation is neither very good nor very bad. The interim government has taken control of the country...On July 18, Bangladesh was like a war zone and after that a curfew was imposed and the army was deployed...”
