Amreli [Gujarat], April 25 (ANI): Shiyal Bet, a remote island village 315 km from Ahmedabad in Gujarat’s Amreli district, has undergone a remarkable transformation under the Integrated Coastal Region Development Scheme. Once isolated, the 72-hectare island is now equipped with a school, Public Health Centre, Anganwadi, post office, electricity, clean water, and a boat ambulance. A 6.82 km undersea power line and solar energy solutions now power homes. With nearly 150 villagers owning fishing boats, improved infrastructure has boosted livelihoods. This initiative exemplifies last-mile connectivity, inclusive development, and rural empowerment.
