INS Sujata and INS Shardul lead a spectacular naval display off Kochi Coast for Navy Week 2024

Kochi (Kerala), November 26 (ANI): As part of ongoing Navy Week 24, an eventful day was organised beside Kochi’s sea with INS Sujata and INS Shardul on board on November 26. The event witnessed a kaleidoscope of Naval operations at sea with challenges in the maritime domain. The day at sea featured a dynamic display of naval operations, emphasising the operational readiness of the Navy. INS Sujata and INS Shardul with spectacular displays of naval operations, showcased the Indian Navy's versatility and combat readiness. A series of impressive activities, anti-air and anti-submarine warfare exercises, maritime security operations, and disaster response simulations were shown. INS Sujata, an Offshore Patrol Vessel commissioned in 1997, plays a key role in maritime surveillance and protection of India's vast coastline. Various naval manoeuvres and drills were demonstrated, highlighting preparedness for any maritime contingencies. Navy Week is celebrated in the last week of November, coinciding with Navy Day (Dec 4), which marks India's decisive victory over Pakistan during 1971 war.
