New Delhi, September 09 (ANI): Geopolitics experts across the world were doubtful if G20 Leaders would reach an agreement on New Delhi Declaration. But, G20 Leaders fully accepted the New Delhi Declaration, which avoided criticising Russia over the conflict in Ukraine. India managed to bring G20 nations to the table and reach a consensus on major geopolitical issues including Ukraine crisis. Earlier, G20 Bali's declaration acknowledged that there were “other views, different assessments of situations and sanctions”. Questions were also raised about the language used in the New Delhi Declaration over Ukraine issue. Comparisons were also drawn between the New Delhi Declaration and the Bali Declaration. However, EAM Jaishankar gave a sharp response on this issue and said, “Bali was Bali, New Delhi is New Delhi”. Another major breakthrough in the G20 New Delhi Summit was the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member. Now, the G20 has become a G21 as India took the lead in bringing the African Union to the elite group. AU Chairperson Azali Assoumani said that he got emotional after PM Modi announced the ‘historic’ decision.
