New Delhi, January 20, 2026 (ANI): India’s 77th Republic Day parade will highlight modern military capabilities with several firsts, including the debut of the Bhairav Light Commando Battalion and the introduction of a phased battle array formation showcasing indigenous platforms. The flypast will feature Rafale, Su-30, P8I, MiG-29, Apache, LCH, ALH, Mi-17 helicopters, and transport aircraft C-130 and C-295, reflecting India’s aerial strength. The Assam Regiment, representing troops from the Northeast’s “Seven Sisters,” will display its rhino emblem, motto “Assam Vikram,” and war cry “Rhino Charge.” The Remount & Veterinary Corps, responsible for breeding, rearing, and training animals, will exhibit rare species such as raptors, Zanskari ponies, and camels. The Bhairav Battalion, trained for extreme conditions, will be joined by special contingents from RAJRIF and SIKH LI, symbolizing a shift toward agile, high-impact warfare. The Mixed Scouts Contingent, with 144 wards, three JCOs, and one officer from regions including Arunachal, Sikkim, and Ladakh, will don special uniforms for sub-zero temperatures, demonstrating versatility across India’s diverse terrains.
