Indian Navy commissions stealth-guided missile destroyer INS Imphal

Mumbai, Dec 26 (ANI): The Indian Navy commissioned the indigenously built stealth-guided missile destroyer INS Imphal on Dec 26. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar were present during the magnificent event. Named the capital of Manipur, INS Imphal is the first warship to represent a prominent city of north-east Bharat. The ship was delivered by the Mazagon Dock Ltd to the Indian Navy on October 20, 2023. INS Imphal is a guided missile destroyer with a displacement of 7,400 tons and an overall length of 164 meters. Powered by Combined Gas and Gas (COGAG) propulsion, the warship is capable of achieving speeds in excess of 30 knots (56 km/hr).
