Indian Army organises educational tour to historical places for students in Poonch

for students in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir. The students along with officials of the Army visited the different historical places connected with Poonch Link Up Day. This year Poonch Brigade and civilians of Poonch are going to celebrate the 76th Poonch Link Up Day on November 22, 2023. In connection with this coming 76th Poonch Link Up Day, many events were organised by different army units under the Poonch brigade throughout November. The Poonch Link-Up Day marks Operation Easy conducted by the Indian Army in 1948 to defend the border district from the invading Pakistani raiders.“The Poonch Link Up Day is celebrated to remember the sacrifice of our martyrs who gave their lives for Poonch. Their stories will inspire us and the children here to do better things in life. Thus it is a great step taken by the Army to celebrate this day,” said an NCC Cadet. “We are thankful to the Indian Army for taking us here. The Link Up Day is celebrated on the 22nd of November to know the sacrifices of our martyrs,” said a student.
