“India is like a Roti…” Why US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti gives the unique analogy

New Delhi, August 28 (ANI): US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti addressed Annual IC3 Conference & Expo 2024 in New Delhi on August 28. During the event, he said that India is like a roti. He made this statement while praising about India’s diversity. Eric Garcetti said, “India is like a roti the more bite you take the bigger it gets. You are never going to consume it. You are going to experience it and navigate it. What are the things we are trying to accomplish in the US-India relationship. We know that Americans and Indians feel similarly, I think our hearts are very aligned...Our heads are aligned as we look at the world, understanding that an open and free Indo-Pacific is better than something that doesn't have freedom, doesn't have democracy, doesn't celebrate people's rights...I came up with some easy way to understand the 4 Ps - 1) Peace, which ultimately is what we seek and want, the work that we do with our defence engagement...things that keep and maintain peace, 2) Prosperity, economic work that we do..., 3) Planet, whether it's a health pandemic that we recently stopped or climate change that we are struggling through...the work that we are doing to protect our planet, 4) People, because we establish and maintain peace, we promote prosperity and material well-being, we protect our planet and our health so that people can find meaning, can find what it is that they are here to do..”
