India 3rd most powerful country in Asia, says research, Hardeep Puri credits PM Modi's ‘leadership’

New Delhi September 25 (ANI): India is the third most powerful nation according to the 2024 Asia Power Index, behind only the United States and China. As per the Lowy Institute report, a Sydney-based think tank, India made a remarkable improvement in various categories. India has made significant strides, overtaking Japan to emerge as 3rd most powerful country according to Asia Power Index. India ranked 3rd out of 27 countries for comprehensive power, with an overall score of 39.1 out of 100. In 2024, India achieved a score of 39.1, an increase of 2.7 points from 2023, according to the think tank. The ranking evaluated national power based on economic, military, cultural, and political influence. The US retains its position as the most powerful country in the region with a score of 81.7.
