Imphal [Manipur], May 01(ANI): Ring Road project — a major step toward easing the city's chronic traffic congestion. Funded by the Asian Development Bank, the Rs 1,766-crore project spans Imphal East and West districts. More than just infrastructure, the project champions sustainability and empowerment, featuring electric buses and e-rickshaws operated by women — promoting both green transport and gender inclusivity. Visible progress is underway, with landfilling and earthwork completed along a 2-kilometre stretch from Khurai Angom Leikai to Tinsid Road and 500 metres beyond. Once completed, the Ring Road is expected to ease congestion around market areas and improve response times for emergency vehicles and public services. For Imphal’s residents, the Ring Road project signifies more than improved connectivity — it embodies efficiency, empowerment, and progress.
