“I am serving as Captain…” Anurag Thakur, Akhilesh Yadav lock horns in Lok Sabha over Agniveer

New Delhi July 30 (ANI): A heated debate erupted in the Lok Sabha between Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and BJP MP Anurag Thakur over the Agniveer scheme. Yadav accused the government of manipulating public opinion by orchestrating supportive tweets from industrialists. The exchange led to an uproar in the House, with Yadav standing firm on his stance and pointing out Uttar Pradesh's notable contributions to the military, including Param Vir Chakra recipients. Later, Thakur responded by questioning Akhilesh's credibility, highlighting his own military experience as a captain and said "I have served as a captain. Akhilesh ji, don't just preach. Sitting with Rahul Gandhi has made you accustomed to spreading rumours and lies."
