Chandigarh, Aug 05 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini held a cabinet meeting in Chandigarh on Aug 05. 21 agendas were placed in the meeting out of which 20 agendas were approved. After the meeting, CM Nayab Saini announced the waiving of canal water irrigation charges for farmers from April 01. He also said that Agniveers will be given a 10 per cent reservation in police constable, mining guard, forest guard, jail warden, and SPO. “We have announced to waive the canal water irrigation charges for farmers from April 1, 2024, and we have decided to waive off the previous dues of Rs 140 crore. Farmers will get a relief of around Rs 54 crore after the waive of canal water irrigation charges. Whatever notices have been sent to the farmers after April 1 will be returned. There is no need to pay money to anyone. If someone deposits money, then it will be refunded to him… We made a big announcement regarding Agniveers. Agniveers will be given a 10 per cent reservation in police constable, mining guard, forest guard, jail warden, SPO. 5 per cent reservation in civil posts of Group C and 1 per cent reservation in Group B… There will be a relaxation of 3 years in age, while the soldiers of the first batch of Agniveer will be given a relaxation of 5 years in age,” said Nayab Saini.
