Dehradun (Uttarakhand) February 24 (ANI): In a major development, the alleged mastermind of Haldwani Violence was arrested on February 24. Uttarakhand Police arrested the key conspirator Abdul Malik from Delhi in connection with violence. More than 70 people have been arrested in the case so far. As per authorities, the violence had broken out during an anti-encroachment drive in Haldwani. Incidents of stone-pelting, vehicle torching, and mob surrounding local police station were witnessed during the violence. The clashes left five people dead and dozens injured which led to implementation of curfew in the area. The administration had to issue a shoot-at-sight order in the area to contain the situation.
