Surat, Gujarat: Gujarat is strengthening people-centric governance by prioritising child nutrition through the Mukhyamantri Paushtik Alpaahar Yojana. Launched in December 2024 under the Suposhit Gujarat Mission, the scheme supports healthy growth and learning among children from economically weaker sections. Across urban and rural areas, government schools and anganwadis provide dry, calorie- and protein-rich snacks along with freshly cooked mid-day meals, complementing the PM POSHAN scheme. Benefiting over 40 lakh students in more than 32,200 primary schools, the initiative has improved children’s health, attendance, and overall development. With strict monitoring and effective implementation, the scheme reflects Gujarat’s commitment to “Padhai Bhi, Poshan Bhi” and a stronger future.
