Gujarat government is strengthening its road infrastructure with the redevelopment of Menderda Road on State Highway-32 as a model project. Executed by the Roads and Buildings Department, the 24-km road—linking Junagadh and Porbandar—is being upgraded using modern machinery, including Vogele sensor pavers, and high-quality bituminous material from batch mix plants. So far, 16 km have been completed, with 8 km under construction. Built to model standards, the project aims to set benchmarks for future road construction, ensuring enhanced durability, smoother surfaces, and longer service life. Serving tourists, commuters, and traders, the upgraded road is already easing travel. The initiative reflects the government’s focus on durable, future-ready infrastructure rather than conventional construction.
