Gujarat sets the tone for Obesity-Free India with first clinic in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar (Gujarat), June 23 (ANI): In a major stride toward public health, Gujarat has inaugurated its first public obesity clinic at GMERS Civil Hospital, Gandhinagar. This landmark initiative is part of a broader, year-round campaign to combat obesity through education, awareness, and empowerment. Launched under the vision of CM Bhupendra Patel following World Obesity Day, the clinic offers free services including BMI monitoring, expert dietary counseling, and personalized health plans. The program echoes PM Narendra Modi’s vision of a Healthy Gujarat contributing to a Viksit Bharat by 2047. By focusing on long-term lifestyle changes rather than short-term solutions, this move marks a transformative step in preventive healthcare.
