Mehsana (Gujarat), July 29 (ANI): Gujarat’s Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan 2.0, launched in 2018 under CM Bhupendra Patel’s leadership, has become a benchmark in community-led water conservation. Over 1.22 lakh projects—including pond deepening, dam de-silting, and cleaning 82,000 km of canals—have increased water storage by 1,39,949 cubic feet and created 207 lakh man-days of employment. Success stories from villages like Kada and Gothva highlight rising groundwater levels, improved irrigation, and better rural livelihoods. The initiative is revitalizing water channels, reducing waterlogging, and promoting sustainable agriculture and sanitation. With active community participation, Gujarat is transforming arid regions into thriving ecosystems.
