Gujarat: Girls on the Path to Self-Reliance with ‘Earn with Learn’ Model

In Savarkundla, Amreli district, a girls’ hostel is redefining education by promoting self-reliance alongside academics. Through the Earn with Learn initiative, 130 hostel students—from school to college—prepare nutritious food items like soups and dates with milk every weekend. These are sold at an affordable price of ₹20 under a No Profit, No Loss model. The program offers students hands-on experience in earning, teamwork, and basic business skills. Beyond academics, it nurtures confidence, independence, and practical life skills, proving that education combined with real-world exposure can empower young women and create positive social change.
