Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], November 27 (ANI): The Gujarat government is strengthening women’s welfare by effectively implementing central schemes. A key initiative is the Free Sewing Machine Scheme 2025, launched under the PM Free Sewing Machine Programme. In Gujarat, it is being delivered at the grassroots to help women in villages and towns become financially independent through home-based tailoring. Women aged 20–40 with family incomes below ₹12,000 qualify, with priority for widows and women with disabilities. In Bileswara village, beneficiary Gauriben Sureshji received her machine this month. With her husband a farmer and two children to support, she now earns by stitching clothes for villagers, adding crucial income to her household.
