From Tweet to Action: GP-SMASH Redefines Policing in Gujarat

Gujarat Police’s GP-SMASH initiative is transforming citizen-centric policing by using social media to deliver swift, real-time solutions to public complaints. Launched on March 1, 2025, the platform enables quick action on issues such as cybercrime, traffic problems, missing persons, and law-and-order cases. In just ten months, over 1,163 complaints have been successfully resolved, proving the power of digital governance. From rescuing stranded trekkers after a single tweet to helping a foreign national recover lost money, GP-SMASH has made a real difference in people’s lives.
