From Challenges to Success: Gujarat’s welfare schemes transforming lives of Divyang

The Gujarat government is implementing welfare schemes to empower specially-abled individuals (Divyang), ensuring their inclusive growth. These programs provide financial aid, reservations, and opportunities in education, employment, and social security. Notable figures like Vishnu Vaghela, a para-footballer, and Deepika Rathod, a physiotherapist employed by the railways, attribute their success to government support. In its budget, Gujarat allocates significant funds for Divyang welfare and plans to fill over 21,000 positions for them in 2025. The state's marriage support program also offers ₹50,000 to specially-abled couples. These efforts are fostering a more inclusive society, helping Divyang individuals live independently and thrive.
