First drone spraying facility centre set to boost agriculture, horticulture in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 28 (ANI): Authorities of the horticulture sector introduced the region’s first drone spraying facility center to boost agriculture and horticulture in Srinagar. It aims to modernise farming practices ensuring higher efficiency, precision, and yield. The centre equipped with state-of-the-art drone technology which marks a pivotal step towards the integration of advanced technology in agriculture. Growers will complete the spraying process of their orchards within minutes with the help of this high technology. The introduction of drone technology in agriculture promises to improve traditional farming methods. Drones can significantly reduce the time and labor required for spraying pesticides and fertilizers. Last year, scientists of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) introduced high-tech drones to spray chemicals in the orchards. Notably, the Horticulture Sector is an important sector which generates employment for lakhs of people. This sector is also considering the back of the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. Farmers and growers appreciate the department for this revolutionary step and expect positive results in future.
