Kolkata, Aug 23 (ANI): The heinous incident in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital left entire nation in shock. The incident enraged people from every walk of life and saw a nationwide protest on the streets. Amid all this, political galleries are fuming with diverse kinds of protests and statements. CM Mamata Bannerji, herself organised a rally a few days back demanding speedy justice for the victim. Now, the Chief Minister has written a letter to PM Modi demanding stringent central legislation for such crimes. The West Bengal Chief Minister called for setting up Fast Track Special Courts for speedy trial and exemplary punishment for crimes. The horrific crime certainly put Mamata’s govt in dock as serious allegations are being laid on the conduct of the state police in the entire incident. The police are allegedly being held responsible for tampering with evidence and compromising the crime scene. Mamata Banerjee is facing a huge backlash from opposition over the safety of women in her state following RG Kar hospital incident. Notably, on August 9, a postgraduate trainee doctor was raped and murdered on duty at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata.
