‘Dream commitment certificates’ motivate Gujarat’s rural students

In Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district, Berana Primary School is inspiring rural children to dream big through its unique “Dream Commitment Certificate” initiative. Introduced with support from the village Sarpanch, the program turns a simple farewell ceremony into a powerful life lesson. Class 8 students declare their ambitions and pledge to pursue them with dedication. Rudra dreams of joining the Merchant Navy, while Priyanshi aspires to become an IPS officer — both driven by their symbolic certificates of purpose. This small village school is instilling confidence, focus, and self-belief among young learners, proving that motivation can start in the simplest classrooms.
