‘Devastation everywhere’ Charred vehicles show aftermath of drone attack in Manipur

Imphal (Manipur), September 09 (ANI): Kuki militants reportedly deployed long-range rockets at two locations in civilian areas in Bishnupur, Manipur. A 78-year-old man identified as RK Rabei killed, and six others injured in Bishnupur in a drone attack. The situation continues to remain tense in Manipur’s Imphal on September 09 amid the rising militant attacks. Drone bombing carried out by Kuki militants took place in Koutruk Village, Imphal West, leaving significant aftermath. Visuals showed the extent of damage as charred vehicles, destroyed houses and personal belongings all around the area. The DM has issued prohibitory orders, restricting assemblies of more than five people and the carrying of arms and ammunition. Notably, it has been learnt that the Kuki militants have been taking shelter in the hilly regions. The police mentioned that three bunkers were destroyed due to the attack, confirmed Manipur police in the post. As per report, senior officers, including IG, DIG of Police have also inspected the areas to take immediate counter-measures.
