New Delhi, Aug 18, 2025 (ANI): Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav hit out at Election Commissioner over "vote theft" and alleged that they deliberately cut the votes of backward castes. “...They deliberately cut the votes of backward castes and they show through you people that they are getting backward votes. The truth is that their votes are getting deleted...Our demand is only that if you suspend a DM, not a single vote will be cut in the entire country. When the elections were held in 2017, the Election Commission removed many officers. In 2019, 2022, 2024 tell me if even a single officer was removed. During the Samajwadi Party, you find out how many officers were removed. The DGP was removed, the Home Secretary but since the BJP government has come to power in Uttar Pradesh, not a single officer has been removed. No officer has been removed on a single complaint. Why? This means that the Election Commission listens to the BJP more. If we complain, no action is taken on the complaint. One BJP MLA from Chhibramau had made 400 fake votes at his booth. We got more than 200 votes deleted...,” said Akhilesh Yadav.
