Delhi records AQI above ‘Severe +’ day after Government invokes GRAP 4

New Delhi, December 14, 2025 (ANI): GRAP Stage 4 invoked by Commission for Air Quality Management in Delhi as AQI hit 'Severe Plus' mark. Delhi’s AQI recorded as 431 at 4PM on Dec 13, exhibited an increasing trend, recorded as 446 at 6PM. Slow wind speed, stable atmosphere, unfavourable weather parameters, meteorological conditions, lack of dispersal of pollutants, All these factors contribute to deterioration of air quality as AQI surpasses 450 mark in parts of Nation Capital: CAQM. GRAP-4 bans entry of heavy vehicles into Delhi from other states, excluding trucks carrying essential commodities & providing essential services. Additionally, closer of industries not following standards fuels and measures approved by the government for NCR. Ban on construction activities in some of the public projects like highways, roads, transmission, pipelines etc. State Government can also close educational institutes and other ‘non-emergency commercial activities’. The National Capital woke up to dense smog on Sunday morning as average AQI stood at 461 at 7AM. Several regions including Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Nehru Nagar, Bawana, recorded AQI well above 450.
