CRPF launches ‘Bhandars’ in violence-hit Manipur, offers essential commodities to public

Imphal (Manipur), September 18 (ANI): Common people thronged the CRPF Group Centre Canteen in Langjing to purchase essential commodities and basic needs as assured in line with PM Narendra Modi’s commitment. The Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah had launched this initiative to provide commodities to the people of Manipur at reasonable prices. This initiative has been launched as a welfare measure by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the violence hit Manipur. The Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandars is open for common people from September 17, 2024. In addition to 21 existing Bhandars, 16 new ones will be opened. Among the 16 new centres, eight will be in the valley, and the remaining eight in the hills. Group Centre CRPF IGP Vipul Kumar said, “Under the guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs, this initiative to provide daily commodities to the people of Manipur has been launched and has taken off from today. The response is very good. All our officers have been on their jobs to ensure all commodities are available in stores. More Bhandars have opened up as well, to expand coverage- 16 in valley districts and 8 in hill districts...”
