Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi on April 30 took charge as the new Chief of Naval Staff of India. As Admiral R Hari Kumar retires from services on April 30, Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi has assumed charge. Born on May 15, 1964, Admiral Tripathi was commissioned into Executive Branch of Indian Navy on July 01, 1985. A Communication and Electronic Warfare specialist, he has had a long and distinguished service spanning nearly 39 years. Admiral Tripathi had earlier served as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command. New Indian Navy Chief has also commanded Indian Naval Ships INS Vinash, Kirch and Trishul. In his first address as the Naval Chief, Admiral Tripathi talked about pushing the navy towards ‘Aatma-Nirbharta’.
