CM Omar Abdullah inaugurates Winter Carnival Festival at Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir

Pahalgam (J&K), JANUARY 3 (ANI): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the Winter Carnival at Pahalgam, marking a significant step in boosting tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. The grand event showcased the region's natural beauty and cultural vibrancy, attended by dignitaries including Deputy CM Surinder Kumar Chowdhary, former CM Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, and MLA Pahalgam Altaf Ahmad Wani. Renowned artist Abha Hanjura opened the event with a captivating musical performance, energizing the crowd. The carnival features traditional cultural performances, winter sports activities, food stalls offering Kashmiri cuisine, and craft exhibitions. Speaking at the inauguration, Omar Abdullah highlighted the carnival's role in promoting tourism and local talent. "Pahalgam is a treasure trove of natural beauty, and through events like the Winter Carnival, we aim to position it as a key tourist destination," he stated. The festival is expected to draw large crowds in the coming days, significantly contributing to the region's tourism industry and offering visitors an authentic Kashmiri winter experience.
