Indian Railways is making significant progress towards offering its passengers a globally competitive travel experience. In line with Indian Railways flagship ‘Railway Stations Redevelopment Project’ several stations are receiving a world class facelift. Chennai’s Egmore Railway station is one among them. The station will have two new station buildings. One at Gandhi-Irwin Road Side, which will be the main entrance and one at the Poonamalle High Road Side, which will be the rear entrance to the existing station. The redeveloped station will feature separate arrival and departure concourses, lift & escalator, Multi-level parking. The station will also be equipped with Divyaang-friendly facilities.
