Canada wants "private talks" with India to resolve dispute after Justin Trudeau’s absurd allegations

New Delhi, October 04 (ANI): 15 days after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s “absurd” allegation against India, Ottawa wants a truce with New Delhi. Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said that Canada wants "private talks with India to resolve a diplomatic dispute". “We are in contact with the government of India. We take Canadian diplomats' safety very seriously and we will continue to engage privately because we think diplomatic conversations are best when they remain private." The statement by Foreign Minister Joly comes after a report said India had asked Canada to withdraw 41 diplomats. India has told Canada that it must repatriate the diplomats by October 10. However, neither India nor Canada have confirmed the reports when asked if the report was accurate. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged India’s involvement in the killing of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Terrorist Hardeep Nijjar was gunned down outside a Gurdwara in Canada's Surrey on June 18 this year. Notably, Canada has yet to provide any public evidence to support the claim about the killing of Hardeep Nijjar.
