Mumbai, March 09, 2026 (ANI): NSE CEO Ashish Kumar Chauhan said, "As we have seen over the last 7-8 days, there has been a huge increase in the oil prices. Today also you would have seen the stock prices in Japan as well as Korea, the markets have gone by 7-8% today itself. If you take the last 2-3 days, it is even larger. India has been able to handle that well. There are many reasons - the experts are saying because of Russian crude, which India has access to, or Venezuelan crude has access to. India would be able to handle this better than other Asian countries which are more dependent on not only oil but also refined products. That's where India seems to be doing better." He further said, "Broadly speaking, if you are able to have incoming oil from Russia and other countries, we are pretty much in good shape because of that."
