North 24 Parganas (WB), March 6 (ANI): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting in Barasat, a significant number of BJP workers and supporters were seen marching from Sandeshkhali to Dhamakhali, crossing the Sandeshkhali Ghat, to attend the public meeting on March 6. Ignoring the fear of local TMC leaders and goons, BJP supporters were seen commuting by buses and ferries to reach the destination of the public meeting. Sandeshkhali violence has been one of the most talked about episodes in recent times. The people were seen giving slogans like “Vande Mataram”, “BJP Zindabad” and “Jai Shree Ram”. After approximately ten years, various local opposition groups were spotted marching together in Sandeshkhali. In the rally in Barasat, a woman said, “We are asking for justice from our honourable Prime Minister. People like us who have brought TMC as a government in Bengal are helpless today. Today’s theme of the meeting is “Shakti -Vandana” which is being held to pay respect to the woman. Our honourable Prime Minister has always prioritised and put forward women in every aspect. I hope the Prime Minister will be supportive of women in the future too.” Another woman said, “You can see the excitement in the crowd. This is the second time when Narendra Modi is coming to Barasat. The state government is not at all prioritising Sandeshkhali episode and our Prime minister is concerned about this matter. That’s why this “Matri–Sammelan” is being held today. Also, women’s day is around the corner so the Prime Minister is coming here today.”
