New Delhi October 16 (ANI): The Union Cabinet has approved a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, effective July 1, 2024. This increase, over the existing 50% rate, aims to offset rising costs and follows recommendations from the 7th Central Pay Commission Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "Union Cabinet has approved a 3% hike in DA for central government employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners. A total of Rs 9448 Crores annually will be added to the paycheck of central government employees..."
