Ahmedabad goes green: 225 new electric AMTS buses transform urban transport

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) Ahmedabad is going greener and smarter! The Gujarat Government has rolled out 225 new AC electric buses under AMTS – Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service, giving a major push to sustainable urban transport. These eco-friendly buses will cut carbon emissions, improve air quality, and strengthen India’s electric mobility mission. The buses come equipped with SOS emergency buttons, advanced GPS tracking, anti-hacking digital security systems, and modern surveillance infrastructure. With this move, Ahmedabad becomes one of the first cities in India to introduce digitally secure public buses.
