Gulmarg (J&k), Jan 08 (ANI): As part of the annual winter practice, controlled blasting was undertaken at Afarwat hills in Gulmarg. The blasting was done to prepare the slopes for skiing, catering to both international and local guests. The drill intended to decrease future avalanche dangers in the region ahead of the tourism season. The controlled blasting resulted in a managed avalanche, which was closely monitored by the Snow Safety Officer and their crew. This controlled blasting exercise has been a routine practice for many years, assuring safety and readiness in the region.
