Interim Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, Prof Abhay Kumar Singh said, "It is a great day, a red letter day because the new campus of the Nalanda University is being inaugurated by the Prime Minister in the august presence of all dignitaries like the Governor of Bihar, CM, Deputy CMs as well as EAM S Jaishankar and MoS. This event is long-awaited because the ancient Nalanda for which we were known all over the world and on which strength of Nalanda, we were designated and renowned as the 'Vishva Guru'. After the destruction of Nalanda, 800 years is a long way for a campus to flourish again and it was a decision of the Government of India, with big support of the Government of Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar gave 455 acres of land for this campus and PM's contribution is very significant because he pitched at the greatest important events that had happened, particularly in the G20. So, when the immigration of the campus is coming up, we are too excited and happy. It's a very auspicious moment for Nalanda University that after a long wait this is renewed, reincarnated and I hope that it will make a bigger impact on the world.”
